10 strategies to be familiar with Social Distancing in your business or profession

Now a days we all know more or less about COVID 19 (coronavirus) , like the symptoms, prevention etc. As a business owner it is my responsibility to aware my employees as well as my clients about one of the best ways to avoid contact with COVID 19, which is Social Distancing, Why not You?

Here are the strategies I can suggest you whether you are a start up, ongoing business like a consulting or an accounting firm, a high value business like IT company, retail store, restaurant and others. So, let’s start the tactics you can use to prevent corona virus by social distancing in your business.

1. Aware employees and clients/customers about Social Distancing

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends people should keep at least 1 meter distance from each other to protect against corona virus. It is the best way to fight against COVID 19  is just to make physical distance. We can mail them individually or can hang several sheets gathered with related information about how actually we should maintain our hygiene and get rid of corona virus.

2. Avoid physical contact (like handshakes, hugs etc.)

If you want to be safe and want to take care of your family, especially kids, please avoid direct physical contact like hugs or handshakes. Most importantly, if necessary to touch anyone ( as well as family members ) keep sanitizing yourself before and after.

3. During this lock down start remote work

If your employees can start working from home, Let’s start remote work. Let them work from home. During this lock down this is the best way to maintain the distance.
As I am an entrepreneur of an IT Company, we have already started work from home.   It’s not the right time to think about productivity loss. Sometimes remote work can grow your productivity higher, So don’t worry.
Many businesses need paperwork for various work requirements. But, this time you can go with paperless work. If possible go with several applications or software’s that can help you to continue your work remotely with full protection. But, keep in mind that your information should be well protected.

4. Flexible Scheduling for emergency office goers / Non-Flexi for Remote Employees

Those who must be present and continue their emergency works, should not gather in a single time schedule. Duty timings should be flexible, so minimum employees will present in one single schedule. Most importantly, it is our duty to guide them to maintain at least one meter distance while working together.
For those who are working remotely, try to maintain a tight schedule. Because flexi schedules will break your coordination.

5. Maintain additional physical space in emergency locations

As I told you earlier, for those who have to continue their businesses these days, (like Hospitals, Grocery shops etc) should increase distance between patients or customers.

6. Postpone large-scale events or Stream them online

Hot spots in India, like — Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and many more are sealed by their respective authorities till now. Due to lockdown public gathering is restricted to prevent coronavirus.
Due to Section 144, any state or territory can issue an order to prohibit the assembly of four or more people in an area. As a result, many public events have been postponed. For example, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket) suspends IPL 2020 and other domestic cricket till further notice.
Likewise, Many upcoming movies and events should be postponed or can consider them to stream them live or broadcast them on any live streaming platform, like Youtube, Netflix.

7. Make it virtual

If it is a group or individual conversation, office meeting, personal get together, make it virtual. As we all are leading a digital life, we are capable of replacing an official meeting through conference call or video conference ( ref. Google Hangouts, GoToWebinar, ViewStub etc.)

8. Continue Learning Services ( like Schools, Universities, Private Institutes ) through online

Many examinations are on hold till next notice. We should continue all learning services through online portals, like YouTube, Own websites, online classes etc, It will help all learners to get updated.

9.  Go with cashless transactions

For any emergency payments reduce cash handling and go cashless. You can use any available payment systems like Google Pay, PayPal, Paytm, Jio Money, Mobikwik etc.

10. Maintain low customer flow

You can also reduce this virus through social distancing by maintaining customer flow in several ways. For example; small shops can allow one customer at a time or malls can allow five to ten customer at a time. Make sure to draw several circles out of your shops for customer safety.
